A CHAIR
FALLING ON ONE'S BEHIND
(2006)

Merging the act into the chair

This chair was modeled after the act of falling on one's behind. By way of illustration, I would like to conjure the image clothes making. Making clothes is based on the form of the human body. That is why clothes are called our "second skin." I believe that chairs are also our "second skin." Thus, I think that the body also plays a major role in a chair's design.

Using a trace for the pattern of the chair.
The trace was acquired through the act of landing on plain paper.

The above instance shows my three practices:
First, from left to right, landing on a body-fit cushion; Second, landing on a toilet seat;
Third, landing on a floor.
